DNS problems on Jan. 17, 2009
Dear JoomlaServices.ca Clients,
On the night of January 17, at approximately 2:00 AM our regularly scheduled cPanel updates ran into a problem with our DNS ( or nameservers). The mornings update caused the DNS system to fail even though the service was being reported as running normally.
Upon further investigation we noticed on the official cPanel forum numerous other cPanel clients experiencing the same issues. There was no immediate fix from the cPanel support staff so we began investigating the issues ourselves and we were able to restore proper DNS service by 13:10 the same day.
Though all other services were running properly they were not accessible due to the DNS failures preventing proper domain name resolutions.
